  • Operation Christmas Child  – Save the date of 11/2/08!  CCF will have an Operation Christmas Child Potluck and Packing Party!  Shoeboxes and pamphlets are available in the Welcome Center, or use your own.  Why not take a couple and ask relatives or neighbors to fill one?  Then on 11/2, we’ll all get together immediately following second service, eat a wonderful lunch and then wrap our shoeboxes for children all over the world.  For the potluck, CCF will provide drinks and dessert.  Bring your favorite side or main dish.  It’s a lot of fun, so plan now to be involved for Christmas!
  • Opportunities to Serve -  At this time in the life of our fellowship we are growing and growing!  The people who have faithfully been serving in the various ministries for four years need help to prevent burn-out.  This is only a partial list.  Please don’t think that “someone else will do it.”  “Someone else” is thinking the same thing about you!  For more information on serving in any of these areas, a list of all ministries and their leaders together with their contact information is available in the Welcome Center. Please consider volunteering in one of the areas below:
    • Children’s Ministry – 2 more teachers are needed
    • Children’s Ministry – Someone to help prepare the lesson folders for the teachers
    • Worship Ministry – Helpers in CD duplication (will train)
    • Worship Ministry -- Someone to work in the sound system area (will train)
    • Worship Ministry – Helpers for Easy Worship/Powerpoint (will train)
    • Welcome Center – Greeters
    • Servants Ministry – People to assist older members who may need a ride etc.
    • Missions Ministry – People to go to the park and witness to the homeless on Saturday mornings
    • Cleaning Ministry – People to join a cleaning team
    • Communion Ministry – People to prepare the sacraments once a month
    • Men’s Ministry – Men to take a rotation in providing security
  • Blue Star Mothers -   So far, we have ONE card or note in the Blue Star Mothers basket!  The deadline for Christmas “care packages” to be sent to our soldiers overseas is 11/1/08.  Please bring a Christmas card or note to be sent to our troops overseas!  Better yet, have everyone in the family write a note!   We are also collecting toiletry items (travel sizes) such as:  Bath Soap, Conditioner, Dental Floss, Deodorant, Disposable Razors, Gloves, Hand Warmers, Kleenex, Lip Balm , Lotion, Mouthwash, Paperback Novels (male genre), Pens & Pencils, Pocket Word/Math Game Books, Powder, Shampoo, Shave Gel (No Aerosol), Socks, Sunscreen, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Wet Wipes.  Please take the time this week to purchase some travel size toiletries for the Blue Star Mothers to send.  This would be an excellent way to get your kids involved in giving!  By far the best gift is a note or card telling them how much you care!
  • Youth Mid-Week Bible Study for 4:12– The youth group has begun a mid-week study/fellowship night on Tuesdays at 7:30pm in the CCF Fellowship Hall.  We are currently studying in the book of John.  All students 7th – 12th grade are invited.  Join us for bible study, pizza, games and fellowship!   We also have a new name:  “4:12” is in reference to I Timothy 4:12 which states, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
  • Van Needed -  The Lord has raised up a ministry outreach opportunity for the Women’s Ministry of CCF to serve the Albuquerque Rescue Mission’s Women’s Center of Hope.  There are 8 to 10 ladies at the Center of Hope who would love to attend the Women’s monthly Saturday morning mini-retreats and who would also like to attend our church.  If anyone has a van (in running condition) they would be willing to donate to the church, the major part of the transportation dilemma would be solved.  And by donating it, you can write off the value of the vehicle on your taxes.  Isn’t it just like God to create a win-win situation!  Please contact Teri teri.henderson@comcast.net.  Thank you!
  • Meal For the Homeless – We will serve another meal to the Homeless on 11/08/08 at Coronado Park. Plan now to join the Missions Ministry in this worthwhile event!  We are still collecting clothes, (preferably winter weight) as well as sleeping bags and back packs (highly prized in the Homeless community!)  We are also currently working on getting a list of popular sizes to assist everyone in supplying the most-needed items in the right size.  For more information contact Jeremy Menicucci at 238-0146 or menicucci_207@yahoo.com.
  • Bible Conference -  CCF will host a bible Conference with Bishop Malcolm Smith, founder of Unconditional Love Ministries International, Saturday and Sunday November 15th and 16th.  The times for Saturday will be 12:00noon and 7:00pm and the times for Sunday will be 9:00am, 10:30am and 6:00pm.  Bishop Smith can be heard on internet radio www.gracewalk.org or www.live365.com/stations/gracewalk  at 12:30am, 4am, 9am, 12:30pm, 3pm and 10:30pm daily.  For more information about Unconditional Love Ministries International, please visit www.malcomsmith.org.
  • Fall CCF Directory -  The next directory will be published October 31st.  Please forward any address, phone or E-Mail changes to me at christcommfellow@aol.com no later than October 11th.  Thank you!  NOTE:  If you have registered with the church, but are not currently receiving our E-Mail or Directory, please contact Kovette at christcommfellow@aol.com to let me know.  Thank you!
  • Acts 20:28 Fellowships – The young adult group, 20:28 will begin meeting at the Menicucci home Saturday, October 25th at 7:00pm.  Our first study will be the book of James.   Please join us for fellowship and a great bible study.   Bring a friend!  A separate announcement will be sent out with the directions to the home later this week.
  • Saturday Morning Prayer Walk – CCF has instituted a new prayer time!  Please join us on Saturdays right here at CCF as we honor God and lift up our church to the Lord in prayer.   This week, due to the Men’s Ministry Breakfast, we will meet at 1:00pm.  All are welcome to join us!  For more information, please contact Forrest Cole at forrest.cole@comcast.net.
  • Quarterly Newsletter -  In an effort to streamline the Communications Ministry and eliminate redundancy, the Quarterly Newsletter has been discontinued.  We will continue to publish the weekly Communiqué and special announcements (births, weddings, etc) will be sent out separately.  The schedule of classes, list of ministries and contact information for their leaders and staff/council members lists are always available on the wall across from the Welcome Center desk. Thank you!
